( Specklebird) Sunsetstar yawned, her jaws stretching in a powerful way; She blinked blearily, shielding her eyes from the suns rays with one ginger furred paw. Pulling her white-tipped tail out from under her, she started grooming her fur slowly, a rough pink tongue darting out to lick the sleep from her body. Once finished, she stepped delicately from the nest and started down the tree, into the clearing. She padded lightly across camp, after a short battle between her mind and stomack, ready to wake Hazelpaw up for training. She held her apprentice in no lower light for being asleep. Sunsetstar was one of the few dawn cats in the Clan. She stuck her head inside the bush and growled softly, hoping to wake Hazelpaw up without any interference.

hazelpaw was laying in a shallow sleep, caught up in a blurry dream that she would most likely not remember when she woke up, suddenly a low, quiet growling filled in her dream. she blinked her dark green eyes open to see sunsetstar leaning over her. she jumped a little and scrambled to her paws, she squeaked, "S..Sunsetstar! ", she paused, composed herself, and mewed, "a..are we starting training?"

SpecklebirdSunsetstar purred, backing out of the den. She led her apprentice past the freshkill pile, and paused when Hazelpaw hesitated. She had forgotten about breakfast, considering the excitement. "Would you like to eat?" She mewed, waving her tail towards the few stiff voles and a blackbird they had left over. Her tone was warm and inviting.

Sunsetstar nodded happily, her apprentice was wise. "Sure thing," She meowed as she followed Hazelpaw out. Taking the lead, Sunsetstar led them to a sunny clearing. There, she stopped. "Show me what you think is a hunting crouch," She commanded, putting extra emphasis on think.

hazelpaw crouched down, her paws tucked under her, and tail in the air to make up for the poor balance of that position. she narrowed her one eye pretending to focus on a mouse a fox length away. she waggled her haunches as if she was about to spring...

Sunsetstar stalked around the apprentice. She corrected the position. "Try to distribute yoir weight more evenly between your front paws," She advised. "And spread your hind legs farther apart, and put some pressure on them," She nodded. "Okay, try to pounce on this," Sunsetstar grabbed a leaf from the ground and placed in two fox-ldngths away from Hazelpaw.
